About Us: Who We Are

The Huntington County 4Community Partnership was formed through an opportunity grant from The Lilly Endowment.  This partnership is composed of individuals and organizations covering a broad spectrum of for-profit and not-for-profit enterprises.  Each of the organizations faces a unique set of societal and competitive challenges, but is unified around the goal of improving wellness in Huntington County. 

The establishment of Huntington County Wellness is the outcome of this partnership.  Huntington County Wellness is a group of community businesses and individuals interested in promoting and enhancing wellness in Huntington County.  The following businesses gave financial support for the planning grant.  American Specialty Insurance @ Risk Services Inc., Bippus State Bank, Cinergy, First Federal Savings Bank, Habitat for Humanity, Huntington City Township Public Library, Huntington County Chamber of Commerce, Huntington County Community Foundation, Huntington County Community School Corporation, Huntington County United Economic Development, Huntington County Health Department, Huntington University, Huntington Family YMCA, Life Long learning, MarkleBank, Huntington Parks Department, Parkview Huntington Hospital, Pathfinder Services, United Technologies Electronic Controls and United Way of Huntington County

Data from Community Health Assessment conducted by Parkview Huntington Hospital assessing health indicators in Huntington County in 2003 and 2001.  The assessment compared the indicators to the country as a whole and to the recommendations of the Healthy People 2010 report of the United States Department of Health and Human Services.

Huntington Wellness is possible only through the collaboration of several funding partners and community groups, specifically Lilly Endowment, United Way of Huntington County, United Technologies Electronic Controls, Bippus State Bank, First Federal Savings Bank, MarkleBank, Parkview Huntington Hospital, Huntington University, Duke Energy, Huntington County Community Foundation, and Huntington Family YMCA
